Largest man made Aloe statue in the world
Driving along the road between Cape Town and George we spotted this huge Aloe. We screeched on brakes and decided to take a look. It is beautiful and really looked real. We thought they were very clever people to grow it so tall - only on closer inspection did we see that it was man made. Still it was brilliant. I had to touch it and feel it just to make sure.... hey what do I know? Not being a 'Buffin' on plants.. Impressive!

Not so happy...
I love to watch folk sitting together and see how well they interact with each other - sometimes playing the game of "what do you think they do?". BUT there are those couples who seem bored, uninterested or just seem the be 'there'. I feel sad for couples who don't seem to chat - hopefully it is contented silence.
Feel these two were just 'there' or maybe they were also crowd watching. I think 'She' was thinking of other things and 'he' was watching.

Flowers around the retirement home.
Today I decided to take my camera to the retirement home where my mother stays. I wanted to capture the flowers that are out in bloom at the moment.... winter time here in Zimbabwe. Wonderful and lovely to see so much colour around the place. I walk with my Mom around the gardens for it is good therapy for her and wonderful to see how much effort has been made. Unfortunately the grass will brown up soon until the next rains.
Sitting in the garden on a carpet of leaves. Such lovely winter colours and the sun is out.
Finally they have water which has been in short supply.

There is always music
I love to see musicians at the market. They try so hard. People bob along listening to the sounds. He said he did 'ok' with his takings.. Difficult to smile and play. Loved the little monkey which made its own little sound. The music gives the market its own sense of buzz...
Deep breaths all the time.
He was making great music from these home made
instruments. So inspiring and clever.

Sand Elephant ...
On the sandy beach in Plettenburg Bay we saw this fellow making this beautiful "Sand Elephant" He was ever so careful. So clever.
Here he has taken a water bottle - put holes in the end and then blows the water through so that it acts as a sprinkler. This is to keep the sand moist and in place.
All this work only to gone the next day. Such patience and skill.

Dogs to the market you go......
I love going to the market to see all the interesting folk that set out to have a good day... buying food - joining others for a cuppa or just seeing what 'goodies' are up for sale.. This time I loved all the dogs that seemed to be on show.
Every one wants to touch...
This dog looked so bored.
Lets keep walking
Hello.....
