Somewhere to eat....

"When you want a quick snack and
do not want to be in a restaurant
you can always find somewhere to
sit and enjoy your lunch.".......

This lad on the left tucked himself
in between the pillars of this building
and seemed quite happy to sit on the
floor and eat his lunch.
This fellow found a bench in the grave yard. The raven
behind him is waiting just in case he receives a crust
or two..... ghostly...

Decor within the garden... Sable Lodge.

Sable Lodge - Imari - Zimbabwe
All the decor around
the garden set a great ambiance. Gave the place character.
An old wheel barrow and rake.
Clay Baboons with wonderful faces.

A skull painted with mirror mosaic work and local
tiles set into the wall

Love these

Bright wall to show these off.
Carving on an
old door
Mosaic Baobab

Zebra kick...

Get out of my way
Zebra's always look so lovely with their stripes and beautiful faces.... but..... there is a time when enough is enough as seen below...
Told you.....

Thee two just watched the display..

The "Buffalo" Elephant

She has a broken tusks.

This elephant known as "Inzou" (meaning Elephant) runs with the Buffalo. She joined them when she was two years old and is now 45 years old. She thinks she is a Buffalo and the guide suggested that we should bring a big mirror for her to look into and then maybe she would register that she is an Elephant. I think she would break the mirror in fright and would not care less. She is the matriarch of the Buffalo's and kills anyone of them that may challenge her. Rumour has it that she has killed 14 male Buffalo within the herd.  On a previous visit to this lodge I had the privilege of feeding  Inzou and she was very gentle.

Running towards us for their food.

Eating peacefully on this very hot day.

Giving us a wave goodbye - well that is what I like to think!

Kudu and Nyala at Sunset.

Our beautiful sunset over the dam at Imari - Sable Lodge. So peaceful and serene. We had sun-downers overlooking this lovely view on one side of the platform and the animals on the other side. Could not get it more perfect.

Almost gone

The majestic Kudu standing in the sunset light
and watching out for the food from the guide.

Just too beautiful with wonderful
horns.
      Poor fellow surrounded by flies.
A Guinea Fowl coming to join the animals

Strolling along.
The Female and Male Nyala waiting for
their food. Their tails reminded me of fluffy
fox tails..

                                                                A young female Nyala

                                                                  Putting on a show...

T-Shirts

T-Shirt and jeans is like a standard uniform.......

T-shirts are big business and everyone competes to come up
with "the" shirt .. We all purchase them and I am sure at one
time or another we have all bought a shirt that we wished we had not. People laugh at you, mock you and snigger behind your back at times; yet we buy them anyway. Others choose a design that suits them and they wear them well.

While waiting for my husband to do his shopping I came across these...

At what age would you wear this one?

For the real "he" man.

Really!

You would see this red shirt a mile away..

Now this little fellow looks tough.....
"Don't mess with me" attitude.
I liked this display...

Men and shopping

Like most men my husband does not like to be dragged from shop to shop.. This place had the bright              idea of placing a bench outside the front window ... My husband took full
advantage of it. I am sure I was not in the place for that long - he could have watched the
        crowds....................

Day dreaming..

I wonder what this beautiful girl is thinking about as she gazes
into the distance..... or is she just enjoying the moment.

Children at the Faith and Hope Orphanage - three - in black and white..

Keep jumping.
A few more photos of the children from the orphanage but in black and white. I was a fun day for all of us and I came home feeling very humble and lucky.

Chasing the ball..

" Please take my cup"... All in jest.....
How about this jump...

Having fun in their new Zimbabwe shirts..
I took some Zimbabwe Cricket shirts for the lads and
they were very happy with them even though they we far too big... They decided they would dance in them which was so funny but they were having fun which was the main thing...

Just loved their faces......
God Bless all of the children.
