All gold and silver. I wonder how long it takes to prepare all this and then of course to wash it all off. Is it really worth being a street performer? I love to see them all and marvel at all the work that goes into it. Good for them.

Women Alone

 On my trip to India I noticed while driving around, many old women alone on the streets. It seemed so sad to me especially as there are millions of  people in the city of Mumbai... Why be alone or maybe they just wanted some peace or quiet time.

A beautiful girl with a lovely smile wearing wonderful
vivid colours. She made my day. 

Painted vehicles

Many vehicles in India have "Horn - OK - Please" painted at the back tail gate or door which amused me as it means that you can 'hoot' your car hooter at them all you like and they will not mind. Everyone uses their hooters all the time, for every little thing but these guys are telling you it is ok!!

                                                                           

                     Is this painting is to remind the driver he has a 'diesel' tank and not petrol... fun??

There were plenty of these colourful vehicles around. They looked great in and among the traffic.

Red Umbrella

I quickly snapped this picture as I was passing. Thought he looked to proud with his red umbrella. One sure needs all the shade one can get here in India.

Lovely kids.

These children were happy to have their photo's
taken after we had allowed them to take a few of us. They loved the colour of my hair and my daughter's. We were the only two Europeans in a crowd of about 200...... it was a pleasure and fun to communicate..... in sign language!

Homeless.

In Mumbai there are so many people (24 million to be exact) so space and homes are hard to find or too expensive so this family made there own on the side of a main cross roads. I could not help but notice it with the bright colour they used for shade. I suppose one has to do what one has to do. Just glad it is not me and it makes me count my blessings all the time. 

Shoes Galore

                                Mumbai....Where ever you go there are shoes hanging up for sale.

                                                                       

                                    Some of these were so pretty but the leather was hard. 

Playing in the streets...

 While in my taxi I spotted these two kids playing on the "Tuc Tuc" which was right on the street and on the side of a main road... They did not worry about the traffic and seemed happy and content.
